Sunday May 17 at 6 pm: Comics & Visual Storytelling with Paige Braddock and Mary Shyne at Occidental Center for the Arts. Join Paige Braddock and Mary Shyne as they talk about creating graphic novels for both young adults and early readers. They will be sharing excerpts from their most recent work and talking about character and story development. Paige Braddock is an award-winning creator and Creative Director Emeritus at Charles M. Schulz’s Studio in Santa Rosa. Her graphic novels for kids include Stinky Cecil and Peanut, Butter, & Crackers, which won a Beverly Cleary Children’s Choice Award. Mary Shyne is a Chicago-area native, who worked a decade in publishing before getting her MFA at the Center for Cartoon Studies. She lives in the Bay Area, working on all things Snoopy at Charles M.
