ABOUT Late for the Train

Late for the Train brings together an eclectic group of musicians united by a deep love of American roots music. Part songwriter’s storybook and part jamgrass playground, their uplifting live shows combine rich harmonies, heartfelt storytelling, and high-energy musicianship.

Rooted in the spirit of Northern California’s coastal redwood country, their songs explore the wonder, contradictions, and hard truths of modern life with honesty and soul. The band released their second studio album, The Flowers of Yesteryear, in 2024, with a third album on the way in 2026.

That same year the band made its international debut in Ireland, performing at the Westport Folk & Bluegrass Festival and the Doolin Folk Festival, and appearing on national Gaelic television with their song “The Trouble With Love” during the famed Fleadh Cheoil festival in County Wexford.

Back home, Late for the Train has built a devoted following touring the West Coast, with standout appearances at Whale Rock Music & Arts Festival, Kate Wolf Music Festival, and Strawberry Music Festival. Their shows are known for their joyful energy, soaring harmonies, and the kind of musical connection that leaves audiences uplifted long after the final note.
