Pegasus Theater presents Push Back

Fri April 17 @ 7:00 pm - 9:00 pm

Distraught over what has been happening in the US since the current president took office, Pegasus Theater Company members decided to do something theatrically creative to resist it.

So, the Guerneville-based theater company put out a request for short plays related to the present US political climate, and received 19 in less than two months. Four of these plays form the backbone of “Push Back,” a production scheduled for April 17-19 and 24-26. It features these short plays by northern California playwrights, along with a protest song sing-along that provides the audience with its own creative response to the madness.

These four freshly-minted plays portray the political landscape from both serious and absurdly comic perspectives. They include: “Executive Order”, by L. H. Grant; “King Fear”, by Thomas Graven and Lois Pearlman, “X’ed”, by Cary Pepper and “Tattoos”, by Susan Sher.

Friday and Saturday evenings the production begins at 7 p.m., and the Sunday matinees begin at 2 p.m. The doors open a half hour before curtain time. Admission is pay-what-you-will on both Friday evenings and reservations will not be taken. Admission is $20 on Saturdays and Sundays.

All performances will take place at the Mt. Jackson Masonic Lodge 14040 Church St. in downtown Guerneville. The entrance is around the corner on 3rd Street.

Audience members can reserve tickets at pegasustheater2.eventbrite.com or purchase them at the door with cash or check.

Come join in the experience. These resistance plays are irresistible.
