The Short Story: Sugarloaf History Hike
This generally gentle (but with a hill climb of a couple hundred feet) hike will loop around the lower areas of the park and discuss the park history, from Native Americans to homesteaders all the way up to the current day. This is the single best hike to get an overview of the human history of this landscape.
Meet at the White Barn parking lot. Tickets are $10 for general admission, $5 for students, youth (12-17 year olds), Sugarloaf members, Sugarloaf or RFO volunteers, and free for children under 12. All children under 18 must be accompanied by a parent or legal guardian. Tickets day-of on site are $15 and might not be available.
Wear appropriate clothing and comfortable shoes, bring layers, at least a quart of water, and if desired, a snack. Parking fees apply.
