The Sierra Ensemble

The Santa Rosa Junior College Chamber Music Series brings the innovative Sierra Ensemble to Campus on Sunday, March 15 at 4:00pm in the acoustically rich Newman Auditorium at Emeritus Hall. The Campus is located at 1501 Mendocino Avenue.

Sierra Ensemble is an innovative violin, French horn, and piano trio committed to supporting a lively chamber music environment. The ensemble is made up of Matthew Vincent on Violin, Janis Lieberman on the French horn and Marc Steiner, on the Piano.

Performing worldwide and throughout the United States since 1998, Sierra Ensemble’s mission seeks to build community and add to the unique violin, horn, and piano trio repertoire via composer commissions, education projects and accessible performances. As winner of CEC ArtsLink and U.S. Department of State cultural arts grants for the Turkish American Composers Project in 2013, Sierra Ensemble featured world premieres in Istanbul and Ankara, Turkey. Additional projects have included commissioning composers Russell Steinberg , Martha Stoddard, Aida Shirazi, and Tolga Özdemir. Other commissions include new works by Richard Aldag and Andres Carrizo. Presently, Sierra Ensemble is collaborating with Boston based composer, Anthony DeRitis.
