About

Daily Acts is a holistic education nonprofit inspiring transformative action for connected, equitable, and climate-resilient communities. We take a heart-centered approach, believing that daily actions can reconnect people to themselves, their neighbors, and the natural world—helping to heal both society and the planet.

Our mission is to inspire transformative action that creates connected, equitable, climate-resilient communities. Our vision is healthy, just, and sustainable communities built on the daily actions of many people.

We replace water-guzzling lawns with edible, pollinator-friendly, and regenerative landscapes, capture and reuse rainwater, reduce toxic runoff, and create vibrant spaces that grow food, habitat, and community.

Since our first transformation, we’ve created 43 public demonstration gardens, sheet-mulched over 330,000 sq ft of turf, and supported hundreds of residential and public sites across Sonoma County and beyond. Through workshops, tours, and hands-on installations, we’ve educated over 78,000 people, spreading practical solutions that ripple through neighborhoods and communities.

From disaster recovery to innovative landscape pilots and local policy advocacy, Daily Acts shows what’s possible when knowledge, action, and people come together. Join us to reclaim our water, transform our landscapes, and build resilient, thriving communities -- one daily action at a time.

Miwok Park Climate Resilient Garden Transformation

Added: 2/4/26

In May of 2024, Daily Acts transformed a lawn at Miwok Park in Petaluma into a beautiful water-wise garden, complete with a pollinator hedgerow and rain garden through our Land Resilience Partnership Program.

Prior to this project, this frequently trafficked park had little shade, major flooding, and expansive lawn. Through our partnership with the City of Petaluma Parks, ReLeaf Petaluma, Sonoma Resource Conservation District, ReBuilding Together and Conservation Corps North Bay, Daily Acts helped install over 30 shade trees, a 1,000 sq foot rain garden to mitigate flooding, and converted 9,3000 sq foot of irrigated lawn to a native landscape. Over the course of the installation 1,100 native plants were planted by 63 volunteers from various local organizations including World Centric, Guayaki, CVS, and Gaylen’s Way. The site will provide refuge of shade for neighbors and habitat for pollinators while saving 236,100 gallons of water each year.
